1) What is your free audit? A free automated SEO report for up to 10 keywords for one domain
2) What is a custom or technical SEO audit? After you complete the free SEO audit, we can review your basic SEO visibility for keywords you've chosen. After you've ordered the Flat Rate SEO package online or by phone, we will ask for access to Google Analytics, Google Webmaster/Search Console, Google AdWords keyword data at the admin level so we can see all data for the past 13-16 months. If we have administrative access (we will not make changes without permission in writing), we can view everything, audit visibility, add keywords to your Bizwatch SEO report and account, and begin to determine which keywords we can reasonably and substantially increase organic 1st page rankings and visibility in Google, Bing and Yahoo (US). We may ask for access to other SEO data, like historical ranking reports from other providers such as Moz or SpyFu or any other program you may have. These are trusted ranking report programs that we may need to review and analyze.
 3) What resources do you use for keyword discovery?

Google Analytics historical keyword data (up to 13 months)

 4) How long will it take to do keyword research & discovery?

Depending on how large the project, 1-2 weeks.

Larger ecommerce sites will take on average 3-4 weeks, unless you request rush services.

 5)What is your keyword discovery documentation process?

All of our keywords are maintained in a Wordtracker project
Google Docs private file shared only with your team members
Bizwatch SEO & Keyword Discovery Report, if the keyword has at least 10 searches or has historical data proving that keyword has driven traffic and conversions in the past.

 6) What is your metatag process like?

We first identify the pages we will optimize.  If it's a small to medium website (non-ecommerce), we pull the page title, meta description and keywords, H1 and URL benchmark report into a new Google Doc (see example but please note this is open to the public, whereas the one we do for you will be private). 

We create a second column to show proposed fields as shown above, and in this Google Doc you can copy for your own project
Once the revisions are approved, we will offer implementation on your website, through secure admin access or by sending to your webmaster to upload. Date of implementation is recorded so we can document how long it takes from time of implementation to date rankings begin to improve.

For large ecommerce sites, we may work with your IT team and/or webmaster to globally optimize the entire site based on our keyword research and analysis.  We will then create manual override metadata for category and subcategory pages depending on your website possibilities.

 7) Why should I let you implement the metadata updates?

Page title, meta description and keyword updates are easiest to update using a secure admin area.  We work with most ecommerce platforms, or web back-end secure administrative areas that already have a page title field, meta description field and keywords field we can customize for each page.

One of the biggest reasons SEO fails, is because retailers fail to implement.  Reasons for failing to implement include but are not limited to:
a) Failure to trust & authorize vendor to have back-door secure access
b) Failure to have internal resources to dedicate to SEO project
c) Failure to believe that on-page SEO tactics can improve organic visibility
d) Failure to believe that on-page manual SEO is practical

 8) Do you make dynamic SEO recommendations for ecommerce platforms instead of manual SEO? For ecommerce platforms, some SEO can be done dynamically by pulling the category name, subcat name, and product title into the page title, as well as meta description and keywords fields.  However, to get SEO done right, there will be needs for manual overrides to work in the most popular keyword variances.  

Example: Hewlett Packard Laptops - Best Buy might be the dynamic category page title, but a better SEO page title would include keyword research that indicates the following keywords need to be manually inserted and override dynamic SEO:

 9) How long does the flat rate SEO process take to implement, once approved and access is granted to secure admin?  1-2 weeks, unless a large global website which may take longer due to internal protocol.
 10) How do you document SEO improvements?  We will pull bi-weekly SEO reports to monitor ranking improvements as well as other changes in visibility.  Bizwatch SEO reports are part of the flat rate SEO package for one year. 
11) How do you document SEO performance? Historical data and SEO reporting for the last four years, before and during the Not Provided Google Analytics changes have proven that a retailer or company needs to have an organic search position of 3 or better. 

We pull rankings via Google Custom Search API, which is nationwide for US listings.
We pull/integrate Google Analytics traffic KPI data including keywords and not provided data
We pull historical Google Analytics data to prove which keywords historically sent traffic and conversions compared with what might be getting increasingly classified as Not Provided data.

With the above data, we're able to see
a) organic rankings up to position 40
b) bi-weekly & monthly trends including improvements and declines/drops in search position
c) whether or not a keyword has driven traffic & conversions in the past month as well as historically over time
d) whether or not a keyword has driven traffic at a given or specified conversion rate in the past month or historically over time
e) comparison of keyword referral organic vs paid so that we can determine which keyword drove traffic, leads, ecommerce orders & sales
f) if integrated with Google Analytics & ecommerce revenue data is enabled, we can determine which keywords send the best revenue, if available outside of Not Provided data
 12) How can you offer Flat Rate SEO? Bizwatch's founder, Laura Thieme, has been providing SEO services for 18 years, since 1997, to small businesses as well as large brand names. She has so much experience doing SEO, she's perfected the process to offer flat rate SEO. It's easier to budget for most companies. Lastly, there are some circumstances where ongoing SEO work will be necessary, for very popular keywords, however those can be charged separately when the situation warrants. But a lot of SEO improvements can be achieved through keyword research, audits, updating metadata and content, and monitoring for 12 months.
